I’m on my way to DC for the Fourth of July to celebrate our nation’s 250th Birthday!
I am going to ride the TranAmerica Trail route that was first introduced in 1976, our nation’s 200th Birthday. I thought it was fitting to use the same route as they did 50 years ago, and it has become more and more famous since. I have always wanted to make an adventure trip like this, and I won’t likely have another chance.
I was dreaming last year of riding to Boga Chica, Texas last summer, and Watch a big rocket go up to space. I couldn’t pull the trigger. That changes now.
I had my second knee replacement only a month and 2 weeks ago. But I’m not worried about it. Last year after I had the first knee done, I pushed the walker away in 2 months. That knee is good, dang ugly scar, but it’s good. This one can only get better from here on out.
My health isn’t perfect, high blood pressure, but medicated. Liver pills and blood thinners, so I don’t have another stroke. All medicated, I have 90 days’ supplies for them all. I have gotten used to it. Eat breakfast, take the pills. Then more coffee. Nobody says I’m crazy. Yet.
So! I have made the decision. I am going to embark on the biggest adventure of my lifetime! I am going to ride accross America on it 250th Birthday. Wish me ~ Pray for me to make it. Thanks in advance.
